What are Current Events?
If you were to purchase a newspaper, or watch the news on T.V., Most of what you will take in are current events. This may be sports and stocks information for the day or it may be a natural disaster or political events. The key word at play is “Current”. It is events, topics and ideas or products that are important or occurring in the current week or day. For Example, in 2018 the royal wedding took place, and at the time it was a current event but now it is considered a pop culture reference. Knowing current events can give you an understanding of what is important or influential to your target audience as well as build credibility and humanize your brand.

As surprising as it may be, YouTube has channels dedicated to news and current events. You can select from any topic that interests you and have hours of information from multiple sources. This is a good resource also for visual intake of watching the news.
USA Today Newspaper
Although you can access them online, in a pinch you can grab the USA Today newspaper from most local gas stations or convenience stores. One of the few newspapers still in print, USA today delivers local and national news in current events such as news, sports, entertainment, technology and a great deal more in four easy to digest sections.

With a very simple design, 1st Headlines is a site that pulls main headlines and articles from newspapers and broadcasts. The home page will display the newest headlines posted but you can also search through the websites tabs and find other articles or stories in popular current event topics.

Feedly is an app that pulls news articles from different sites and sources based on what you tell its AI is important to you. Feedly will pull information from scores all over the internet, not just news sources but also social media and blogs.
